What have you guys been thinking about the 24/1.4 coming out?

I love my 50mm f/1.4 and I think I would get the canon 85mm f/1.8 instead of the samyang, but the 14/2.8 I am definitely going to buy.

hard to say, for me at least. i really want to try it out, but i feel the 35mm and 24mm focal lengths are a little too similar to justify keeping both, unless i enjoy it enough :p.

This is taken with the Rokinon 24 1.4 to show how wide the lens is.

After seeing such awesome photos and hearing people rave about this lens, I'm seriously considering buying it. The only thing holding me back is the manual focus. I'm going to practice using manual focus on my lens and see how I do

trust me, it’s not as big a deal as everyone makes it out to be. it makes you slow down a bit though, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing :)

Being that JimmyDude911 is doing it on a body without live view (which I am soon to encounter), I would trust him. When I used live view it was no problem, but now that I'm upgrading to the 5D it's going to be different.

you should definitely get an EE-S focusing screen though. that’s the one i use and it makes it a lot easier.

What i do when focusing with this lens on the original 5D, was by keeping my left eye open. Helps to show if its in focus or not. Of course the EE-S screen helps a bit more though. I need to get the EG-S screen for my 5DII soon..
