huh. there must have been a bunch deleted, since when i posted this thread there were 999,xxx (can't recall), and right now a day later there's:

So, what was the infamous thread about?

At least I was right when I voted. It was a brilliant photo.

On the number, while this is thread 1,043,455, I imagine the thread count shown on the front page, which is currently 1,000,306, is based on threads that currently exist. The difference is that the larger number is the number of unique threads ever started at PotN, and the smaller number represents what remains after spammer, abusive, and otherwise inappropriate threads have been removed. It would probably also account for merged threads.

There are also threads that us common folk can't see, like the ones in the moderator's section and the Recycle Bin.

Also, there's the sorta hidden Exhibit Engine sub-forum.
