~2.5 stops I'd guess?

Ben quality pics and quality thread. If going for the Lee gnd's should I be going for glass or the cheaper resin? I seem to be seeing threads talking about both

I see threads talking about both but I've never seen the glass versions for sale to be honest. Mine are the $95/ea resins and seem to be holding up fine. I've had one for almost a year now (over 11 months) and use it at least once a week.

Sorry Ben I have another question. I already own the b+w mrc kaesemann cpl. Could I get away with using this cpl with the Lee gnds? Apart from it being a Pita having to first set the cpl then attaching the filter holder would I get issues with colour cast? Also do you think I would get vignetting at 17mm since my cpl isn't the slim version.

Thanks again

careful with screwing on the lee adaptor to the cpl. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!!! I learned my lesson the hard way when i tried doing it that route. Stick to a lee cpl

I was trying to avoid the additional cost of a 2nd cpl but I may just have to bite the bullet and get the Lee one. I can always keep the b+w one for Walkabout situations when I'm not using the Lee kit

get the lee when you can. Using a round CP with a filter holder was enough of a PITA I never did it past trying once. I have no idea if it'll vignette, but I'd guess it would on a 17-40 at some point.

I've read through this whole thread twice now but I'm afraid I have another few questions to clarify, sorry. What Lee cpl do you recommend? The 105mm round one or the 100mm square one? Am I right in thinking both of these slot into the filter holder the same way the gnds do? Do you think the upgrade kit to allow the cpl to rotate independently is necessary?

Sorry for all the questions I just want to make sure I buy all the correct "bits"

Eddie

I have the square CPL. The round CPL is cumbersome. It requires an extra adapter that screws to the front of the foundation kit

Image of what the rotating CPL and adapter looks like "borrowed from google"

I had the same thought process before when I only had a round cpl. After purchasing the lee cpl, i would never go back to a regular screw on one.
