I am doing my first wedding this weekend near Destin Fla. It is on the beach with a outdoor tungsten lit reception. I know it is late to be trying something different but I want to try flash gels on the beach and at the reception.

I have today and tomorrow to practice. I put it off and now I am in Fla and don't know where to go get them.

Anybody know where I can find them near PCB or Destin?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Go to any camera store and buy a roll of gel plastic. Go to a hobby store and buy superglue and velcro to attach them with, if you have no other way. I have velcro attached to my flash heads, and to my gels. I almost never use them as I light an entire room, but in your case I might.

Nikon flashes come with a really handy attachment system, but that probably won't help you much.

The camera store is the problem. I don't know where one is.

When I was home, I didn't want to drive across town in traffic. Now that I'm here, no store.

Wolf Camera and Best Buy and stuff like that don't have flash gels.

I should have ordered it online. I wouldn't do it because of the shipping on such a cheap item.

So if you won't order gels and you won't find a store to buy them, why start the thread?

The point of starting the thread was to find the store.

I attach my gels with 2 sided tape. I put two strips on the flash head and put the gel on and it stays until I slowly peel it off if needed and then stick back on. I hate velcro on my flash, I just like to keep it clean. When I get home I peel the tape off and ready to put on two more (to hold the gel on) the next wedding.

I bought my gel rolls at Stage Spot.
