Just did a shoot with this young boy for his mother. She was happy with the results, but was wondering if anyone had any ideas to make these better?

They seem a little flat to me, did you add any contrast in pp? that age boy is hard to shoot without them looking completely self conscious, I think you did a pretty good job getting him relaxed. Number 2 is a bit forced around the mouth, but still...

I don't know, it could just be me. It's not a salvation issue, I'm just saying that was my initial thought. : )

I think I like it better in color, but what you think of an 8x10 crop? I did a quick and imperfect clone job to remove the white thingy. I like the tones of the browns in the color version, but I think I prefer to see less shirt.

Don't wanna be rude but in every photo except the last one there are nasty distracting backrounds like nail holes and green chipped paint and the subject is flat up against the backround.
Find better backrounds and move the subject away so the picture doesn't appear flat.
