I did a search her and didn't find a whole lot on this.
For those using portable DVD burners, what do you recommend and why? And for those that have done research, your input will also be helpful.
I only seem to find the Delkin Burnaway here but I have found people using the Apacer and the BenQ drives too. Since I do most of my offloads and backups where I have 120 VAC power, battery powered units are not that critical although I would love to hear experiences.
I have an OLD laptop with a new 80Gb hdd in it that I am offloading my pictures but I am getting nervous and would like to burn onto DVD for safety reasons. Not to mention not having to deal with USB 1.1. Yes, a new laptop is wanted but that is not near term.

So, any reccomendations?
Thanks

If you try to fail and succeed, what have you really done??

I use the Addonics MFR (external link), which will burn DVDs or CDs either straight from the flash card (CF, SM, SD, and MS slots included) or from your computer. It also plays movies and CDs in stand-alone mode! Has a battery, but like you, I don't really need it.
