What camera strap would go well with, say, a ThinkTank Retrospective Lens Changer shoulder bag? Would it be possible to both carry a bag and the camera on your shoulder? Right now I only have a backpack, but planning on getting both a new strap and a new bag.

Black Rapids RS-7. It holds my 50D+24-70mm+430EXII with no problems. Pretty comfy too.

Toffiloff --

I've a Cumpler Industry Disgrace strap that I've loved from the first day. I routinely wear it around my neck, or slung over one shoulder, and a Kata H-16 with other gear slung over my shoulder and around behind me, out of the way, until I need access to it. Totally comfortable.

I'm sure there are other combinations that are equally comfortable. But those two items immediately satisfied all my needs and ended my search for the perfect, comfortable, unobtrusive, grab-and-go configuration. I'm never without them. Literally.

Anyone try the Luma loop?
It is similar to the R-strap but looks like it may be made better.

I just bought one after seeing a post here and the demo photos on their website. I am already very excited with it, and how the camera hangs and it does feel lighter.

The heaviest lens I have right now is a 24-105L and it feels fine with this strap.

Wow, the Luma Loop looks like it fixes all of the worries I had about the R strap and how it connected to the camera. This looks better. I may have to get one..

I just picked up the RS-7, I looked at the Luma but I looked at a few comparisons (some here if you search for Luma Loop) I was convinced the RS-7 was a better product.

Interesting, I did the same thing and decided to go with the luma loop.

I have been very satisfied with it so far. I like the fact that it doesn't slide out of the way when you pull the camera up.

I will say this, I do not like it when it is not attached via the tripod mount.

Isn't that the main advantage of the Luma Loop not having to use the tripod mount?

I've been very happy with the POTN OpTech straps with the 3/8" adapters on everything from binoculars on up to a 1D3 with the 300 f/2.8.

The main advantage for me was the simplicity and the fact that it stayed put on the shoulder.

You certainly can use it without the tripod mount but I found the ergonomics to be questionable.

I was interested in the Luma because of the ability to still use the Tripod mount. But the quality of the RS-7 seems to be much better overall and went that route. I don't really tripod all that much, and I believe you can get special adapters for Manfrotto tripods that make it work anyway.

Just out of curiosity, in what way did you feel the quality was better?

Nice review, my luma loop is a bit different from the one in your pictures. Their is almost no plastic used in mine. Just the clip by the shoulder. Everything else, including the connecting pieces and the rings used for adjustment is metal.
