read an interesting statement, best way to ruin a hobby is to turn it into work, or something like that.

for those that do photography as their source of income now, do you still find it as enjoyable as you did before it became your job? or do you dread the work now and do it simply because it pays the bills like many of the office type folks out there?

I don't dread the work, I would never do a job that made me feel like that. It is certainly not as enjoyable as it once was. I don't go out and shoot for myself very often any more. It is what you make it. There is not as much time for my personal shooting, wildlife as I spend more time beating the bushes and marketing. I do predominantly commercial and while the jobs are not as frequent as say weddings the returns are still high enough to make it worthwhile.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

I do photography as part of my income, and I've certainly heard that line before. I think it's a bit of a red herring though. As a job, yes photography has changed a lot. I've got commitments, business crap to deal with, some problematic customers, etc, etc. And I have less interest in just going out and shooting for relaxation than I used to.

But really, if I compare it to my old desk job, it's still far better. I think *any* activity you *work* at will not be as good as doing it in your free time for fun. Is flipping burgers on your backyard BBQ more fun than working at McD's? Yes, of course it is.
