I'm completely new to studio lighting and have been told the d-lites are good quality but simple kits to get started with, so I'm probably going to buy the Elinchrom D-lite it 2 kit.

However, someone told me a few days ago that the my 400d (rebel XTi) probably would't be able to work remotely with the skyport receiver.

Does anyone know if this is the case?

Thanks for any help!

Why would it not work?

The transmitter is mounted on the camera's hot shoe. Your camera doesn't have a sync socket, which might be needed with other transmitters or a sync cable, but with the Skyport Eco it should be fine.

Any transmitter (and trigger system), be it Skyports or otherwise, will work when mounted to your camera's hot shoe.
