The flash freezes the action while the long duration picks up the background (somewhat) I suppose that's a possibility. I thought SEF "crawls" over surfaces like the discharge from a Van DeGraff generator. It clings and snakes its way over surfaces and doesn't "flash" like lightning. Jay
