It was a cloudy day so I set the WB to cloudy and it came out like that. I fiddled around with it in DPP trying daylight and auto and changing the tone but I kept coming back to the original as my preferred. Apart from cropping and sharpening they're pretty much sooc. To me the sand has an almost tiltshift lens look to it.

We're almost to Winter now and the sun's getting lower in the sky plus it was mostly cloudy anyway, no glare. I'm thinking about going back next month for another go.
