I have the HF 21 i think it does a great job. The cameras you listed are all going to record the same quality the only difference is storage/hard drive.

Were it me I'd prefer one that records to flash memory rather than an internal hard drive. Hard drive = moving parts = wear, noise. Flash memory = no moving parts = no wear, no noise.

I had a Sony HDR-SR10e and it had an internal hard disc.

There was no noise from the hard drive. I loved the camera until I realised by quality was suffering. So I upgraded to a DSLR - now my family won't let me film them. So the little cameras are great for family stuff.

As a starter and all round family camera - these are all great.
