Hi there!

I have a new 7D, and once when i was using my friends CF card [16gb sandsisk extreme] and i didnt format the card, the card ended up failing at the end of the shoot saying corrupted. I figured out how to retrieve the photos and some came with blue and green lines on them.

Then i used my friends memory card again a month or so later, and this time i formatted it. When i downloaded them via card reader the same thing happened again when i was looking at them in lightroom. I decided to download them again via camera cord and onto a folder on my desktop, once i did this all the photos were perfectly normal.

Well last night i used my CF card [Sandisk extreme 3, 2gb] which is formatted to my camera, and i have had this card since the beginning of time, and i downloaded the photos into LR and again some had lines through them. Then i downloaded them on my desktop and no lines. Also one did have lines but when i opened it in LR, it no longer had lines, here is an example at the bottom of what i'm talking about.

So far this has only happened when i shoot raw. this has not happened when i shoot jpeg or tethered. In addition to this, when i was loading the photos from last night into photoshop to edit, they crashed PS at least 10 times. This again has not happened before.

They look fine on camera, and have had this happen on two different macs, both form a card reader [two different ones] and via cord. I am updating firmware on the camera tonight, but dont know if that will fix issue, or if that is part of the issue.

Thanks so much for reading and replying!

This is the type of thing that can be anything. You have to troubleshoot it, starting with the simplest/easiest components -- cables, cards, card readers, hard drives, etc. Just take things a step at a time until you narrow things down to the most likely culprit(s).
