Anybody have any clue why it's so difficult to find either Lee or Cokin Z-pro filter holders. I ordered one from two different stores back in early March, with estimated delivery dates of late April, and still haven't seen anything. I've asked them, and all they can tell me is that their distributer doesn't know either.

Lee is a very small company, but is very popular and the best (IMHO), they sell more than they can produce.

Here is a YouTube video, explaining their set-up (external link)

Cannot speak to Cokin, but Lee hand makes their filters. They have a very high demand and just cannot produce the filters quickly enough. Add to it introduction of new filters like the Big Stopper and that adds to their delays. Well worth the wait though in my opinion.

I happen to use a store that almost always has their stuff in stock though, so when I need a filter, I usually have it the next day :)

I've generally been able to find the filters; it's the holders that seem to be out of stock every where I've looked.

Expand your purchasing options a bit and you'll get a few options. I'm in Oman and I strongly rely on the US market to get stuff as well, but sometimes you just gotta look elsewhere.

I recently ordered the Lee holder from teamworkphoto.com, item is on it's way although they had no stock of the 77mm adapter. These go very quick though.

I ordered a big set from n2filters back in March. As of today, all I'm waiting on are the .6 and .9 HE NDs. They are getting shipments weekly, but have no idea what they are getting or when "x" product is coming.

Unique Photo has most of the popular Lee filters in stock as I write this, unfortunately, the holder is backordered. Seems like all the GNDs are in stock except for the .9 soft. I've been trying for months to complete my Lee set from the usual places and then two weeks ago found a post on here about Unique Photo. I was able to get the .6 soft and .9 hard that have been sold out everywhere for months.

Wouldn't you know it: the day after I post this, I found a place that had some stock that had just arrived, and I received it today. They said they had a "few", but you could try them if you're looking for the holders: http://www.buyphotogear.com/ (external link). This is the first thing I've ever bought from them, so I can't vouch for their reliability, but this one purchase went fine.
