B.Toews - love your shot of the bird on the shoreline

AirfrogUSMC - i like the first two of your most recent post

Last Saturday i went to a Leica S workshop, run by my favourite local camera store.
I was really impressed with the S, it feels great in the hand, everything has been well thought out, and it is pretty simple to use.
I do prefer the M240 though, especially the files i shot with it on the day.
I think part of it is the S is very unforgiving with missing focus, and camera shake, in addition to being a camera i am not used too, and it showing up every flaw in my technique (which has been masked for years by IS lenses).
was a good day though, met some cool people, watched how others worked, and made some images i quite like.

heres three from the day, the first is with the S and 45 Elmarit, the other two are from the M240 and 50 Summarit

Shockingly I actually prefer the rendering of your M240 images over the S.

B.Toews - is that yours ? or a pic of the one you "test drove" a while back ?

Still Loving my M240, took it back to Lesmurdie falls this afternoon.
with the steady march towards summer, it has dried up quite a bit, but also allows much greater access to the bottom of the falls.

No, unfortunately just the loaned one. I'll be considering a digital M next year, hopefully in time for a 2nd gen Monochrom. Although I do shoot some colour, so perhaps the M240 would be best. Either way, it's out of my budget for now, and I'm tentatively saving for a trip to Japan next fall, so we'll have to see what happens!
