this car is beautiful! is this a commercial shoot? very professional

Thanks and yes. It was a project that I shot that took over 4 years for a wealthy client that has an amazing American automobile collection.
It was shot in an old movie studio that he owns where he keeps in collection of over 70 amazing automobiles. The lighting was 4 4801 black line Speedotrons with 4 yeads each in a 10 X 30 overhead soft box. SO 16 flash heads in a 10 X 30 ft soft box.

So I think I am going to sell my Q2. Love Leica but think I am better suited with a more versatile kit.

That being said, looking to go to an SL, SL2-S. However if I do that I can only get non Leica L mount glass.

Other option is go for a Panasonic S5 and one nice SL lens.

Thoughts?

Do you mean a whole m system or m lenses adapted to an SL?

Not sure how I feel about not even having the option of autofocus.

I'm talking about M system. I would never go back to auto focus.
A good piece. Scroll down to manual focus.

Sorry for the newb question - but since the focus box is only at the center I assume if you want something off center in focus you just focus and recompose?

Thinking back to every camera I have owned - autofocus is the thing that gave me the most frustration.

That's how I do it and I find manual focus on the Leica much easier than manual focus on my Sony A9ii.

That said, the whole MF versus AF discussion is not an either-or proposition for me. Each has their place but both require an investment of time and experience learning the system(s).

I thought the same thing for many years hehe. Now I been spoiled with super fast snappy af that when i take a picture it's just expected and boring. never would I thought I would buy a manual lens, and on top of that, an expensive lens. I wanted something different that the newest and greatest tech or lens does not offer.

Ive always love the images the 50lux M produces and never thought of owning such expensive and manual system. time has change for me and now I want my pictures to look like the ones I've been lusting for.

I love the SL2. but know that the camera is heavy. as much as I love it, I find it uncomfortable to carry around on a long outing, I would take it when I know I won't be out for too long. It's nice that L mount consists of Leica, Panasonic, Sigma, giving you more options and at a cheaper cost compare to a leica lens.

AF is fast, but not super snappy fast that you would get with the other brands. extra battery is also expensive.

I would get the SL over the Panasonic if you want a Leica system and experience. Panasonic will just be Panasonic. When I mounted the M lens to my sony, i felt I was just shooting with the sony. I recommend getting a sigma lens for the SL if you go that route.

edit: I should add, I don't mind leaving the SL2S behind because I have the M10R and Q2 as my lighter carry. The SL2S does have better iso performance than the two, but if I need good iso performance, I will go with my sony setup. The new M11 is a huge improvement on iso. Maybe I'll get an M11-P in a few years, assuming it'll have lower mp hehe.
