My wife and I just celebrated our 25th anniversary with a trip to Kaua'i. We took along some friends who never got a chance to have a honeymoon. They were celebrating their 20th anniversary. We had a lot of rain, but I managed to grab a few nice shots.
I'm still processing a bunch of shots, but I had to drop by and share a few. I hope you enjoy!
and as always, CC is welcome.

This is on the afternoon we arrived.

The next morning, we were treated to this sunrise.

Something about this reminds me of Pirates 4.

Here is part 2

Hanalei Beach and pier. (Two exposure stitch with Tokina 10-17)

The amount of drift on the beach was amazing. The previous week had been very stormy and a lot had washed off the island and onto the beaches.

Here is an HDR of a piece of drift I shot earlier.

The day before we came home, I was up early enough to grab this sunrise.

Ah yes, Kauai. My wife and I went on for our 25th last November but without any friends-just ourselves. Couldn't decide on camera, lenses, etc. and decided to only bring my Canon HV20 camcorder with one mic. Worked out nice.

BTW: Did you notice an awful smell near the Kola Coffee company store? It smelled like hogs! Not sure if there was a slaughter house and feedlot to he North.

nice shots. the wife and i will be there in less than 2 weeks, we can't wait. I really enjoyed the first photo, can totally picture myself in their spot. The water in Hanalei looks pretty brown, was it really or just the lighting?

Thanks!

When I took the shot at Hanalei, it was fairly overcast. Additionally, we had received a LOT of rain the previous 3 days. The water was full of silt and debris. There was actually quite a delta built up on the other side of the pier. You could walk out 150 yards and still only be up to your knees. ;) Give it a few weeks and a couple storms and that will change.

Hanalei is always a beautiful place to shoot. I just wish the cloud cover had been gone.

Na Pali coast. Wonderful hike to beach. Sorry about the splotchy colors-the compression necessary to post created them.
