I used to have the sd850 which i thought was an amazing point n shoot. I havent used a point n shoot for a while and recently got the s95. I have been playing around with it for a while now and just took it to the grand canyon, i dont know if im crazy about it.
I took these ages ago with my sd850

https://photography-on-the.net …p?t=523145&highlight=zion and i feel theyre better than the S95,

Am i crazy or expecting too much?

EDIT:

Checked out this thread or maybe this one? Don't try to use it as a "PhD" camera; treat it with the same respect you would your 5D2.

Hard to say without any similar samples from your s95 as comparisons.

It is always easy to reminisce about old cameras, but you usually don't have all your crap shots around as comparisons, only the really good ones.

Some recent ones from S95 - on the contrary, i think its a Brilliant little Camera! It goes where other cameras dont - and yet gives a lot of manual control!

Thanks Don. Yes ofcourse - as the saying goes, garbage in garbage out :) so if the lighting / subject isnt image worthy, either you dont get a great image, or you have to work it to apparently improve one of those via prespective / lighting etc.....
