When I'm out on the street or walking around. I only take 1 camera and 1 lens. And since I use primes, it's a really light setup.
And I love primes most of all. The 50 is a drag on a crop.

But you also need to go looking for it as it rarely just jumps out at you on the way to work. At least not where I live. Taylor

That's why I use a 35mm on my 1.5x. When I see people using a 50mm on a crop, I just shake my head. I know they don't understand why they have 50mm other than that's "what old school photogs use". 50mm has no business on a crop body. D800 | Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art | Nikkor 85mm 1.8G | Nikkor 70-200 2.8G

The 50 is a great lens in quality, but it doesn't fit very much in practicality. I've forced myself to use it for a long time, it's just way too long. Maybe I need to change the way I shoot a bit, so the 50 works. That's the cheapest solution.

This can be extremely therapeutic. It will force creativity as you'll have to really work to get your shots. Great learning/growth tool if you ask me. I did nothing but a 50mm lens for over a year. I contribute that to teaching me more about composition than anything else, by far. Great advice. I'd rather my photography be more like that all the time. Too many lenses take me away from photography.
