5D Prices

I've been out of touch for about two years, but in the meantime have 5D I prices gone up? I thought they used to sell used for ~$800-1000 2 years ago. And now, post-60D, post-5D II days, they're around $1100-1300?

They certainly had decreased form the original (body) price of $3,395 in August 2005 but I don't believe they dropped as low as you say. The current price sounds about right though - it's a wonderful camera and has held it's value fairly well. It can still do plenty.

Indeed - they were at a low of about $900-1000, but prices have spiked since the tsunami (new cameras are harder to find, so used cameras are in higher demand...).

I stand corrected then - hadn't realized the disaster had affected the used market for the 5D in that way.

Thanks! It's almost like-new condition. A few scratches near the hot shoes and that's about it.
