So I currently am running a Lacie 2Big Quadra External 2TB drive in 'Safe Mode' (raid 1). My question is if I was to get 2 3TB drive, copy all the data off the Lacie drive and replace the two 1TB drive with the 3TB drives will it work or do I have to purchase the new 2Big Quadra enclosure that already has the bigger drives in it due to raid configuration setting or electronic parts added for the larger drives?
Wondering if the time-limited error recovery (TLER) on the drives will have an effect? I am most likely gonna run it in 'SAFE MODE' Raid 1 again with the new drives.
Was wondering if anyone has upgraded their Lacie drives to larger capacity? I haven't called Lacie yet, but was going to this week.
