I'm sure there must be a reason... ![]() I don't know the reason, but it must have been one of the first basic design decisions by Knoll and Hamburg a half-dozen or more years ago when they determined the architecture of the application. Having the camera support files in a self contained plugin would on the surface seem like a good idea, but OTOH every update I've seen has also contained bug fixes and would have required a total download anyway. Especially in this update in which Adobe is being particularly unforthcoming about what was the terrible ef-up that it fixes. Elie / אלי

I'm not sure, however, why you'd need a CD to install it yourself. You can download it directly from Adobe. Some Canon stuff and a little bit of Yongnuo.
