Thanks for posting this but its not unexpected.... this release is to correct a problem discussed here: Potential JPEG Bug in Lightroom 3.4 and Camera Raw 6.4 (external link)

It's just a shame that LR can't do a simple ACR update like Photoshop or Premiere etc. Instead you have to download and install a 200Mb program from scratch everytime.

I'm sure there must be a reason... ???

I don't know the reason, but it must have been one of the first basic design decisions by Knoll and Hamburg a half-dozen or more years ago when they determined the architecture of the application. Having the camera support files in a self contained plugin would on the surface seem like a good idea, but OTOH every update I've seen has also contained bug fixes and would have required a total download anyway. Especially in this update in which Adobe is being particularly unforthcoming about what was the terrible ef-up that it fixes.

For one, I think it's the 32 and 64 bit installers in one package (so double the 90mb). The rest is probably packaging overhead.

It's good to note that giving Adobe Bug Reports/Feedback works!

Is LR 3.4 available on a CD? I want to replace my 2.6, but would rather unistall it and install 3.4 myself, if available.
Thanks

Yes - you can order directly from Adobe or a third-party seller. I'm not sure, however, why you'd need a CD to install it yourself. You can download it directly from Adobe.

Some Canon stuff and a little bit of Yongnuo.
