For most of this week, and once before, I was having problems logging in to this forum. Needless to say, it was very frustrating reading the forum but not being able to reply to any postings. At one point, I was so frustrated (and now disgusted with the whole situation) that I just threw up my hands and swore I'd never come back to this forum again. Well, that promise didn't last too long and I kept trying to figure out what was going on here. I finally managed to resolve the problem and just wanted to share it with everybody in case there were others out there experiencing the same type of problem.

What was happening was that every time I logged in with my name and password, instead of getting the usual "Not xxxxxx" message with a "Logout" button at the bottom of the page, I'd still have the "Not logged in?" message with the username and password fields and the "Login" button.

If you check the Forum home page, you'll see that you actually have logged in successfully because your username is shown at the bottom of the page. However, when you go to reply to a posting, you'll get the "You do not have permission to reply".

Initially I thought the maybe something was wrong on the server end or maybe something needed to be reset there. I sent several emails to the forum administrator but didn't get any response back to any of them :( (Wonder why that "Contact forum administrator" link is there in the first place? )

Then I discovered that I was able to log in from my work PC but not from my home PC. So, finally as a last resort, I deleted all my cookies and internet temp files and that fixed the problem. I was back in "business" again! :) Now that I'm thinking about it, I think just deleting the cookies would have done the trick but I didn't care about my internet tempfiles anyway.

I had a similar problem for a while. I could log in from one computer in my home, but not from another (home network). It turned out to be nothing more than my cookie settings. Check tools...internet options, go to the privacy tab. At the bottom there is a web site cookie handling section.

Hmmm... I haven't had problems logging in to this site, but I am with comcast member services. Keep getting a "session timed out" error. I'm fairly computer literate, so this is bugging me a little.

I've deleted my cookies, cleared all autocomplete forms, reset the time, and even re-installed the installation software from comcast. It wouldn't bother me... but I have 25MB of storage space that I'm now unable to access due to this problem. I was going to create a little gallery, so I could stop using fotopic.net, and bytephoto.com (which are both up and down). Odd thing is, this problem started with IE, but I was still able to login through Mozilla... but now, I can't get in at all. Customer support is a joke... they have no clue. Wait a minute... I'm rambling here. Ok... done.

blah something clever blah blahdie blah.....
