It's a 50mp camera with built in editing software to combine multiple shots. False advertising imho.

If the output files are 200MP, I don't see the issue.

Should be some pretty gorgeous billboard output.....or better yet - put one of those in orbit and you should get some super-super hi rez earth satelite images (unless certain folks have already been using this for a while............)

Ok so it's for still photography only and it splits the image into 6 - 50mp images and stiches it together? and if you already have the 50mp camera they will upgrade the software for you for a mere $9000? Nice I'd love to play with one.

$45,000 for a camera that only works well with static subjects (jewelry and watches and cars). You can probably get them for $39,999 in lots of 10 or more.

Oh, yes, and it takes about 30 seconds per shot, so it always requires a tripod!

Sounds like a classic example of what marketers call "an artificial need." First they create it and then work on convincing us that we NEED it. No thanks.

Wouldn't stacking 6x50mp images result in 300mp not 200? I know they mentioned 4 or 6. and dayumm... 600mb single file is ridiculous haha

In the description, they talk about keeping focus on a model's eye during the 6 exposures. Trouble is that the model has to remain still for 30 seconds to take the picture. This is a digital hark back to 150 year old 8"x10" glass plate view cameras that were so slow that the photographer had to provide head braces for the subject so they wouldn't move their head for many seconds.

It still functions as a 50MP camera for things that don't hold still...

I recently read that Canon is currently testing an APS H sensor of 120mp and capable of 9+ frames per second, so if they introduce the Hasseblad sensor wobble technique and a 30 second exposure they would have a 32400mp (got to better than 200mp????) hasn't it?
Anybody got a spare hard drive?
For myself I would be happy with 10(good)mp - got 16 - so not looking any further until there are some dramatic improvements in lenses!

Life is for living, cameras are to capture it (one day I will learn how!).

yeah, and the automatic transmission is an example of........

fortunately, hasselblad doesnt make cars.

They are only marketing to.... maybe a percent of photogrpahers.

maybe our vision of what is possible is just too limited.

I recently saw some 50MP prints in 20x24 and I was duly impressed. LF quality.
