I know most of us have white and black.
What other colors do you guys use?
Can you post some pics/samples with other colors?

Thanks!

For absolutely the most saturated colors from using gels, black is better than deep gray, and white is poorest for color saturation.

It is not a case of 'better'...it depends upon what you want to achieve!

Thanks. I discovered Zack's site when he started that site but I've only had the chance to build home studio in my basement. Unfortunately, I could not get my gel to colorize my white background. Maybe I should play around more. Or just buy a colored background and be done with it.

Here is a useful reference, about using gel on white paper and exposed to different levels.

These show a gel on black paper, exposed to different levels.

And here is a useful reference, showing different gels on white next to that gel on black. Unfortunately rather tiny.

This shows, at nice size, one gel on white and on black, at different levels.
