I don't like the crop on the second one, perhaps a vertical crop would be better. First one could be cropped tighter on the right side.

Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions! The second photo is what it is, no crop there, pretty much straight out of the camera. I will try you suggestion for crop on the 1st photo! Thanks again!

Pete,

Better, better, better!

The first of the last two images has action, dirt flying, hair blown, both players, home plate, a score within inches and even the desperate eyes of the catcher. One can quibble about a few thousandths of a second earlier or later, but these shots are much better than seeing the ump make the call after the play (though it was neat to see both players checking out the ump's call).
