Has anyone got this? It would be neat to see him actually do his lighting with speedlights, he's such a good photographer but they are expensive.

i borrowed his old lighting dvd set from my buddy, wasn't much new from his blog.
imo, it not worth it there is so much free stuff out there. just got to grab the gems out of the dirt.
it is good information, but imo not worth the price tag.
i haven't seen the knew one yet
i donno if im thinking of the right one, im talking about the guy who has the strobist site

I think you're talking about David Hobby (the Strobist guy).

I've seen a couple of McNally videos from Kelby Training, but they've been just ok, not excellent.

"The language of light" - DVD seems to be out now and that's probably good stuff, but at about 160$ it is a bit steep.

One thing I've always liked about Joes videos is the down-to-earth attitude (even though he has the merits to not to be down-to-earth) and humorous approach to teaching.

You could always borrow his books from a library to begin with and he does have some stuff on Youtube.

It's a start at least :)
