Well a little brief, last year I was shooting Sony Alpha, I got tired waiting for the replacement of the A700, and I didn't like the idea of SLT's, so I sold everything (except my M42 135 F2.8), and was deciding going Nikon or Canon.

But when I found that M42's need an adapter with glass to mount it on Nikon's. I was a bit confused if I should throw away my cheap (paid like $25 bucks for it) Sears 135/2.8, But soon I realized that a nikon mount replacement will be no less than $250 bucks.. So it was a no, no for me..

So here I'm ;) haven't had a lot of time to play with the lens... But today I tried a few pics (testing the M42 adapter with chip)

Wide open :D

Here is a crop from the raw IMO This is very sharp for a cheapo lens and wide open, what do you think??

How are you finding manual focus on the 60D though? I know I stopped using my MF lenses on my 450D because the viewfinder just isn't good enough for precise focusing with fast lenses.

I find MF to not be that hard with the 60D - Pentaprism FTW! You can also use the magnification feature and live view to get very accurate results.

But the viewfinder doesn't give a true representation of DOF especially at wider apertures, that's where the main problem is for me.
As for live view, that works, but I don't like using the camera, especially a DSLR, by holding it out in front of me :)

Well I don't have any problem acquiring focus, the vf is big and bright, well the DOF once you get used to your most usual focal lenghts it's easy to imagine how it's gona be.. Almost all Manual lenses have the distance scale engraved on the lens so there is not a problem. Also using an adapter with AF confirmation is excellent to nail the focus using wide apertures.
