I think they've 'mingled' so I call them a black capped-carolina chickadee. That way I can add a new bird to my list. Dan

May 28, 2011 10:58 | #6 The Carolina is predominent in the South East and you're correct, there has been a lot of cross breeding where their ranges overlap. Generally speaking, the Carolina is slightly smaller (really hard to compare if you don't have both side by side). Enjoyed the image none the less!
