Think Tank Retrospective 10 + Tripod?

Hey,

I just bought a Think Tank Retrospective 10 bag and really like it. The only thing I wish it had were some way to carry a tripod. I'm going to be traveling abroad for several weeks this summer and am looking for a good way to carry my tripod with the R10. I've thought of a couple ways:

1) Put it under the flap. (Probably not a very good solution...)
2) Hang it from the bottom of the bag somehow, probably using the loops on either side of the bag as attachment points. Not sure exactly how I would do this.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how best to carry my tripod with the R10? Maybe someone has had similar issues with other shoulder bags like the the R10 and found a good solution?

Thanks

Those loops on the side are for TT's own holders. Aside from attaching carabiners to them, I don't see how else you could use it. One solution would be to custom-sew a loop at the center of the underside, and then sew velcro scraps to either side to make sure it doesn't flop in or out.

Putting it under the flap is really the best solution for you. I have a TT30, which is longer, and I've been able to stick my travel-angel tripod underneath without the ends sticking out TOO much.

use the side loops to hang it from the back side (but not under) or just get a separate tripod strap and sling it over your shoulder (what I do).

^^this.

I can't see a graceful way to mount a tripod on my R10.

You bought the wrong bag. Be happy with it nonetheless and get a tripod bag or strap and call it a day.

I stick my tripod on my rapid-strap and put the Retrospective 20 over the same shoulder. works really well, actually. the loops on the Retrospective bags are too wide to work with the little hook/loop kit that they sell for the UD bags... found out the hard way.
