So I woke up early enough the other day to go to Vickery Creek and grab a shot of the waterfall from a new perspective (ie. getting a bit wet). I would love to hear your comments on the photo -- good or bad -- just want to keep getting better so if your going to trash it give me a pointer too please! Thanks for looking!

Composition's good, color and foreground leaves are a nice lead-in...a few things to watch for: several of the highlights are blown and, as already mentioned, the sky is a detraction from the overall image. Basically, when the sky is dead and featureless, its best to crop out in the field by adjusting your focal length, or make allowances in the composition and crop out in post...it will only detract from the image.

Thanks for the comments guys. That did not really bother me personally, because I took a shot of the sky testing the exposure and because the sun was right there it was just blown out regardless of the shutter speed. I took your advice and cropped it, let me know what you think.

I love this shot and, personally, don't mind the light atop the falls at all. Yeah, it's blown but it shows where all the light on the right side trees is coming from and it also makes it look like a image shot in the morning. A crop, to me, detracts from the images composition which, again, to me, is spot on.

The water is perfect in this and, as mentioned, the leaves are a great lead-in. That would be hanging from my wall if I took it. Well done. :D

PS: A GND would be nice next time but you could always fix this one in post if you feel the need.

Beat me to it. This was going to be my comment. Love the shot, just would crop a bit off the top.
