your 7d has excellent iso control and the 50 is a very fast lens. post yourself somewhere nice (im sure they wont have you plastered to one spot) and take pics from different angles. i myself wouldn't find the speed lite to be a necessity (i dislike using flashes but that's just me). any noise can be edited out and the lighting can be fixed post process. this of course isn't the professional way but since they're imposing on you...

Honestly, I shot some pictures yesterday indoors and out with the light and it's night and day, lol. I love it! As far as the wedding goes, I'm only shooting the cake cutting. I just don't want to screw it up!

I agree... If the flash is used properly it will make night and day difference !! And you will not wanna look back.. I don't know why or if i'm the only one, but I also notice that increase sharpness.
