edit: may i ask you if you use fill flash when outdoors?

okay just read that you just used a reflector. is that what you normally do when shooting outside?

Wow, thank you everyone. Didn't realize this thread was still alive and kicking. Lighting in all of these is natural light, some with the aid of a reflector. :)
