I am finding many tutorials for Elements, but nothing for 2.0. There has to be differences, because I try to follow the layer tutorials but run into a snag when some of the buttons for actions are just not there :(

Does anyone know if this is covered in a tutorial somewhere? I have googled, and searched this forum, but so far nothing other than the short tutorials that came with 2.0.

I sure wish I could afford an upgrade!!!!!! I just know I would become a photoshop junkie!!

Thank you in advance!

Heh! Yeah, Elements 2 is old. I had Elements 4, and then upgraded to Elements 5 but shortly after made the move to CS2, then CS3, then Lightroom...

I'd suggest hitting the local library if you have one, or try searching online for some Elements 2 books or such. Tutorials may be hard to find.

A quick Google search for "photoshop elements 2 book" turned up some possible leads:

An interesting aside -- I recently picked up a little old (maybe 6 years) Dell Inspiron 1200 laptop for my daughter, who has been without a computer for a couple years, for $60. We've been having fun getting it "functional". I had to dig out a wireless plug-in card, which got her hooked up, and then we realized it only had 256 Mb of memory, so I sent out for a 1 Gig upgrade card, which we will plug in when she comes by here Tuesday. Hopefully...

I did install Lightroom 1.4 and Photoshop CS3 on it, they aren't functional now, but maybe with the new memory. As a fallback, I have my old disc for Elements 4 on hand, ready and waiting, and the online link for Elements 5.

So, back in "the day", not so long ago, we actually could get by nicely with less than 2 Gig of Ram. Now, 4 Gig is considered basic RAM. But I'm thinking that the memory upgrade will allow her to do a lot.

Anyway Debi, there are resources out there!

Google can be your friend (external link). There are several forums dedicated to Photoshop Elements. I am sure they are all up to date on the latest Elements software, but I am sure they should be able to help you with Elements 2 also.
