so curious... if you dont pay for flickr.... they limit you to the last 200 pics for viewing...
now i dont use flickr to go back and show pics.. i show them up here... so as long as they are linked they will still show right?

To my knowledge. Free Flickr account will be maxed out at certain MB per account. If you are planning to add more photos in the future, this will prevent that. But as for showing and linking existing photos, I don't see any issue doing that.

I've gone past the 200 photo limit a long time ago, but I haven't checked to see if my photos are still up...

I have not read anything about a limit to the MBs you can upload overall, just a 300MB limit per month.

i know about the max per month.. that is why i resize everything to 1024 on the long side so i can get the max per month.. never hit the 300mb max though.... and keep the originals for my use at home...

As cheap as Flickr is i can't see a reason why you don't get a Pro account. It's worth every penny it costs.

That is just how many pictures they will show on your photostream -- the rest can still be viewed in albums.

For me, the PRO account was worth it, but only because I am doing a lot more for other people, I was OK with the free account for a few years first, but the Pro account is definitely worth the money, IMO. :)

It won't max out on the images you upload, just the amount displayed

It used to be 100mb, now it is 300mb. I don't put hi-res on my, even if I did have unlimited broadband. In a few years time I will not use flickr. When I get around to eventually having my own site, that is where all my good stuff will be

I don't have a pro account but have over 2000 pics uploaded to flickr.
The most recent 200 images you have uploaded are what shows in your photostream.
As many as you upload at the front end, the same number will disappear from the back end of your photostream.
This applies only to the photostream.
I actually don't mind the way it works because it means the most recent images I've posted are seen easily.
If you tag them with something like your user name, anyone will be able to find the ones not showing in your photostream.
For example, go to "search everyone's uploads" and put in "philwillmedia" into the search criteria and all the images I have tagged with that will come up.

Have a look here at the flickr help page http://www.flickr.com/help/limits/ (external link)
