Had my heart set on a Tilopa BC from f-Stop but they are out of stock for the next who knows when. I have two trips coming up in July that will have extensive day hiking so I need to find an alternative to the f-stop series. Has anyone here used the Contrejour 35 or 40 from Clik Elite? I need something I can fit both my bodies, both lenses, a 13" MacBook (In a sleeve), and various other items needed for day hiking. I'm also interested in their "Hiker" pack but I'm concerned about meeting carry on requirements. Any helpful ideas, input, or suggestions are welcome.

Hi there. I have also been doing research for a weekend pack. Narrowed it down between the f-stop Loka and the Clik Elite Contrejour.

Ultimately, I have decided to go with the Contrejour 40. For weekend trips, the 40 seems not overly large and will protect the camera/lenses/other. The hiker was a beast and I never considered it.

I've PM'd back and forth with harv3589, who has the Contrejour 40. Rob was quite helpful.

Good luck with your search.

-Robbie

Are they out of stock on the Loka too? That's actually a better day pack than the Tilopa (I have both).

They have the Loka but no medium ICU's. The large is overkill and doesn't leave me with enough room for extra stuff. The small is too small and I won't be able to fit all of my camera equipment.

robsudac, my biggest concern with the 40 is carrying it on the airplane. The 35 looks like it would be a better fit for overhead compartments and such. I'm just worried I won't be able to fit my 13" MacBook in the 35.

What about two smalls? The small is really nice in the Loka and a nice complement to a medium. You could order the small a medium (back order) and then just find a way to carry your other camera gear that didn't fit in the ICU - lens cases or something. You might also be able to put a lens case on the MOLLE attachment points.

I might just go for the Loka with a large ICU to start and get creative with how I pack things. That way I can order the medium ICU when it's available later. I can use the extra space in the ICU for the first aid kit/accessories and slip a gore-tex in the top area along with some food/snacks. Add a water bladder in to the top compartment and I think that should work out OK. The real difficult part is going to be the laptop during air travel. Squeezing that in without the taper of the medium ICU is going to be a stretch.

Good point on the Molle attachments. I can use those to add on more as needed.

I guess it's all going to depend on the laptop. I had an iPad in there with a trip a took recently - I know it's not as large as a laptop, but the thing is pretty large in it's own right. If you keep it out of a sleeve, you might be able to slide it down on one side of the icu.

Ian from F-Stop PM'd me last night and provided pictures of a Loka loaded up with a 13" macbook and a large + small ICU inserted. The fact that he did this for me out of no where tipped the scales towards bringing my business to F-Stop. Thanks again to Ian for taking the time to help me out with the extra info. I will be placing my order in the next day or so. Thanks to everyone else for your help as well.

Good choice. That's similar to my experience with F-stop and Ian.
