Pileated woodpecker Family

I was very lucky to come across this nest not so far from my home. All the four chicks(2 males and 2 females) successfully fledged on 05/26/2011.

Outstanding Ruhikant!
I'm envious of your access and ability to get these heartwarming shots. I know where 2 nests are in neighbors chimneys of all places, but it would take scaffolding to get shots as good as yours.

Great shots!!! I wish I could stumble across something like this one of these days. We do have one of these in our neighborhood that I've seen, but he is very skittish and once he catches sight of you, he's gone!
