I cannot get this setup to work while flash is set to Manual. Only when set to ETTL. That seems strange because I know it isn't using ETTL. Any ideas?

Can someone who is using this tell me what their settings on camera and flash are? I am not sure I have it set to work perfectly.

Also, the Skyports have buttons for increasing/decreasing power. Can I use those?

Thanks!
kboard

Do you have the 580ex set to slave mode? If so turn that off. That is only for use with the Canon remote flash system, as in controlling this flash with your 7d popup flash.

Unfortunately No. Only for the Elinchrom compatible lights.

1) Which Skyport receiver do you have, the original receiver or the newer "Speed" receiver?

2) How are you connecting sync from the Skyport receiver to the 580EX II, via the PC port or via the hotshoe?

Enjoy! Lon
