My wife has dark circles under her eyes unless she piles on the makeup. They've always been there - even in the photos of her as a toddler, she had bags under her eyes. I'll see if I can get a sample photo up - I'm sure I have some in my Flickr. Sweet! thanks. Don't try to confuse me with the facts, my mind is already made up.

Jun 02, 2011 09:18 | #10 Actually this is easy in Photoshop. CTRL "J" then use the clone tool at 100% opacity and 10 to 20% hardness and using the "good" skin below the circles completely wipe out all traces of the circles. You may need to use the Band Aid tool also. Once the skin is perfect, lower the opacity to about 60% and see if you like it. If it is too much lower it to 50%. If not enough raise it to 70%. Flatten.

If there is significant discoloration I take the eyedropper, sample a flesh tone color that is pleasing, make a new layer and set it to color and use the paint brush set to around 50% opacity. Then I zoom out and adjust opacity to both layers as to keep detail and because I think we all tend to over edit when working at 100% or so. - Paul

Exactly. Set opacity to about 15%, soft brush (20% hardness) lighten mode. Several clicks are needed, move the cursor between clicks and the effect is not noticable. It will keep the texture but put the lighter skin color under the eyes. "If I ever get satisfied, I'll have to stop. It's the frustration that drives you." - Eve Arnold
