I would say pretty much equivalent IMHO.

You have the 70-200 II + 55-250? Interesting :).....

Whats your point? :p The EF-S lenses are from my non-FF days when I just had the T2i and those two lenses to my name :) I'm selling them

why not the 70-200mm 4L? I have it and takes great pics. I just got the 100-400mm so selling one if you're interested and I'm in NY

I would need IS with it. If anything it would come down to the f/4 IS or the 2.8 IS II, I would prefer the larger aperture since I mainly work with portraits and if I'm shooting indoor sports I'm going to need the extra stop or so of light.

If it was the f/4 IS I would consider it though, especially since you are from NY which would make it easier for me and you.

 :p true.... I can honestly say though the 85L is spending a lot more time on my camera than the other two right now..maybe its just because I'm still in the honeymoon stage with it, haha!

 I know what you mean. I'm still in honeymoon stage with it, and probably always will be. I can't justify selling it but if I'm able to save up enough for a 70-200 f/4 or f/2.8 this summer I wont need to sell it.

i have both as well and i don't think i'll ever sell either of them.

i find each has it's own purpose and the aperture is different enough to warrant keeping each one.

the 85L is amazing in how sharp it is at 1.2, and the bokeh is beautiful on this lens.

the 70-200 II is just a general kick-ass lens that does everything well for that range :)

Yes. 85L I personally find is sharper than any other lens wide open (well, at least anything <200mm), especially considering at 1.2 if you nail focus it's amazingly sharp. On some shots I could use a 100% crop if I wanted but I don't usually have the need for one.

The reason I'm considering the 70-200 2.8 IS II is for the reason you said, plus it's got the IS so I can use slower shutter speeds.

Dump that 24-105 and get a 24-70 :p! FF really gives you a nice benefit to all that lenses you use though, much better with bokeh.

haha I picked up the 24-105 with the 5DIII as a kit, I wanted a light, "all around" lens that could cover my butt when I didnt feel like carrying the tele. In what ways are the 24-70 better? I may consider it some time in the future. I'm happy with my current set-up :D

I believe it's sharper, and better IQ, as well as a stop brighter. I would let someone else answer that unless I'm right though, I know that wedding photgrapher prefer the 24-70 > 24-105, plus you already have the 70-200 so it would compliment it nicely.

I had the 24-105 and sold it to get the 24-70. If I had it to do over again I wouldn't. The
24-70 is an outstanding lens but so was the 24-105 and it made a much better walk around lens IMHO. I also don't think that the 24-70 is any sharper than the 24-105 was/is. Just my opinion.

5d MkIII / 6D SOLD:cry:/ 50mm 1.2L II / 24-70 2.8L Mark II Sold:cry: / Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS Mark II SOLD!:(

Thats good to know :) I think I would find the 70mm being limiting if I used it as my walk around lens. The 105 is nice for that
