Ah right. I only got mine the other day and didn't realise you could still MF with the AF switched on.
I just assumed it had to be both switched off and the body powered up?

I have had it for a yr now. Just wanted to see what 85L is all about. So far it seems canon has better colors but difference is quite small. AF wise 85L is slow but very accurate.
