This was challenging. Getting dark, late start, and didn't realize how dark her tan would be ... a friend of someone I photographed last month. Prefer available light in redwoods, but pushed a bit of light from a single LED panel.

^ She looks like she could be on Jersey Shore

It isn't a bad image, but because of her skin tone it kinda messes with the WB or so it looks it.

how sharp is the 85mm 1.2 L lens at f8? i am aware it is made to shoot at 1.2 but if it is sharp at f8, i can use it for a particular purpose in addition to shooting it wide open. I'm asking because i have heard contradictory comments about its sharpness at f5.6 and f8, thank you,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Lot's of specific tests out there. It is a sharp lens if you can nail the focus.
http://slrgear.com …owproduct.php/product/354 (external link)

"That said, it isn't a lens that's tack-sharp wide open, at least not in the corners of the frame, even on a sub-frame camera. It actually is fairly sharp at the center wide open, but the softness in the corners is noticeable. Then again though, this isn't a lens you're likely to be shooting architecture or other subjects that demand crisp-looking corner detail with wide open. If you're using it to isolate your subject from the background, chances are that you'll be much more concerned with what's in or near the center of the frame than what's in the corners. Stopping down just a little to f/2 greatly improves matters though, and at that aperture, you can stack this lens up against most anything else out there, while at f/4 it's simply superb. Even at f/16 (where many lenses begin to diffraction-limit significantly), the 85mm f/1.2L is remarkably sharp across the entire frame."

Becoming a gear junkie.

Harm, great shot! It's not only great for portrait, but also nice for landscape isn't it? :)

My contribution, I hope it can show the creamy-bokeh goodness of this lens. Taken at an Awa-odori dance festival, summer last year in Tokyo.
