Finally got a chance to shoot with this lens. With out of camera jpegs like these, I don't even wanna mess with the files. I was mainly curious how it compares to my 135L and 85L is noticeable more flare resistant and has even stronger color. But AF is too slow especially in DPAF which limits its application for me. Rendering is peerless, IMO. The color so vivid in both LiveView and VF that it makes it a really fun lens to shoot with. Never tried at above f1.2.

It's my favourite lens. I find that focusing is a whole lot quicker and generally less troublesome with the 5Div than it used to be with my 5Dii.

Focusing using the OVF (which would be normal for me with this focal length), I feel it's perfectly fast enough for most applications. I have never tried using Live View/DPAF with the 85L, though, and this where you evidently have found it has limitations.

Great poses and expression on the family. I would have probably straightened the verticals a bit more here. Image is on a tilt, accentuated by the building in the background.
