Here are some shots I took of my girlfriend's brother's football team. His team is the one in red. All images were taken with a 300D and 70-200 f/2.8. Let me know what you think.

I think they look great... think you can squeze a little more sharpness out of them with some gentle USM?... did you sharpen the reduced images at all? Otherwise - nice shots given the lighting. Cheers.

looks good but you better bump you shutter speed 1/250 is too slow for football. and I agree use some USM, it wil look even better. good job!!!

Great shots. I took highschool football shots myself last night using a canon digital rebel
and a sigma 70 - 200 f2.8 lens. They turned out pretty well, but seemed a bit hazy. Any way
to correct this.... I am not sure what USM is. I'm new at this night stuff and could use all of
the help i can get.
Thanks,
soccermom

First and last are marvelous. I would suggest using flash in these venues. I shot some last night that certainly weren't better than these except perhaps for the color "popping" due to the flash ... https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=105503.

USM stands for unsharpening mask. It is a photoshop technique for making an image look "crisper" for a lack of a better term.

Hey Erik!
I just wanted to let you know I'm from Eau Claire (actually Elk Mound) just down the road from you, and your photos are great! I'm a lurker but I saw the team and recognized them right away, realizing you were at a MHS game ;)
Are these hobby only?

Actually I was at a Throp football game. These shots are just for hobby. I have an interest in sports photography, but I rarely get a chance to shoot this close.
