The French seem to enjoy stopping over here whenever they have an emergency while enforcing the No Fly Zone over Libya. We had about 4 pairs of Mirage F1 CR's, a Super Entendard, and today a pair of Mirage 2000's! (the Rafale is the only one still eluding us)

One of them had no fault so it was due to leave a few hours later. Unfortunately due to delays, the scheduled dusk take off was postponed to after dark which means, the afterburner can be seen in all it's glory.

The pictures do not do it justice. It was one of the most awesome things I've ever seen. Allez le France!!

Hmmm... given the ordnance on that thing I wouldn't want to dazzle the pilot though! :D

Thanks!

Exif should be intact but the basics are Manual, 1/100, f3.5, ISO 6400.

Middle one is my fave because of the outline on the sky.

Not really much to look at imo. No offense ofcourse but these just seem pointless to me. Everythings to dark to make out any detail, even the lights on the vehicle and in the background just look blah. Good luck.

To me the subject seems to be the big jet afterburner. The title also leads me to believe that. That is why I think its good. Just a counter point not trying to argue or say you are wrong. Every one has their opinions.

That's too bad. Dusk is a great time to shoot. Maybe you'll have better luck next time.
