I'm slightly amazed to think I found a lens that didn't already have a samples post. I know there are a few of these old film-days clunkers still running around out there, and I'm interested to know how many people still have them.

This particular lens is a UE (1990) date code, and it pretty much lives on my 10D full time. The push pull zoom is a little odd if you're used to nothing but twist zooms, but I figure it's good practice if I ever get a 100-400. Shot of the lens taken with a slightly younger but much crappier EF 28-90 USM...which only works in manual focus.

Both shots are RAW from the 10D run thru DPP with default settings. No other changes aside from mild cropping.

I got this lens recently for $22. If anyone is curious, the lens produces pictures extremely similar to the 18-55, but with a longer reach, a faster aperture, and a much faster focusing motor. It's probably considered USM before they started naming it USM.

Found one at the flrea market for 8 euros. AF motor is stuck from dust. Will need a good cleaning but I can't get into the lens.
The lens is good, a Canon Standard lens
