Cute little animals until you remember they're called "Nutria Rats". You can barely see it's "rat" tail underwater.

They grow to a length of about two feet and weigh 15-20 lbs. They eat vegetation and wreak havoc with lake, bayou and marsh banks, tearing them up in search of food.

A local chef, who is from from France, tried to promote them as desirable, but he never succeeded. Personally I wouldn't eat the meat. They look too much like a rat
