A very fine looking image and castle, not exactly in ruins though ;) ;) , but it makes no difference.
Two suggestions for possible improvements:
* It looks like the intent was to capture the entire castle but failed to do so on the right hand end....the eye/mind ask what's hidden.
* I miss a bit of sky detailing/colour (assuming there was any to start with ? )
The sky could have been darkened either thru exposure comp. or probably the evaluative metering mode could have done that for you automatically. Granted, both the castle abd the lawn would have ended up darker too. In addition, there are probably some graded lens filters to accomplish something similar.

the castle is leaning backwards ever so slightly Neil

maybe if you had stood at a different angle while taking the shot it would appear more 'majestic',
it does not seem to be in ruins

for now even cropping some of the grass would balance the picture better (that dark patch along the front could be cut out)
just sharpen the castle a little then and 'see how it goes'
maybe brighten the parts which appear dull

forgot to say, it's a lovely neat castle
:)

Hi Neil, Looks as if it is leaning to the right quite a lot. I think you also have the problem that I am all too familiar with - gloomy weather! And you can do nothing at all about that! :(
