Jun 01, 2011 12:40 | #1 I have a 580EXII which is about 6500k according to my WhiBal card. If I picked up a second speedlight and umbrella for fill light, what would be a good one? I'd like to match the 580's color temp as close as possible without spending the money on another 580. ETTL is not required as I'd be setting the power manually and triggering from a Cactus v5.

Jun 01, 2011 13:21 | #2 All flash units from $50.00 cheapo Chinese units to $10,000 European units have nearly the same color temperture so don't worry about it.

The 580 series (both EX and EXII) should be right around 5400k temp. The Yongnuo series of flashes operate right around this color as well, fwiw. Ergo, pickup a YN-560 if you want something full manual for fill and do not need E-TTL. Just call me Jeremy. <Massachusetts Wedding & Portrait Photographer

If the WhiBal were really off by 1,000K, balancing with it would result in an obviously horrible color cast.
