430EXII Off camera with 2nd curtain syn

If I want to retain ETTL when using 430EXII off camera in 2nd curtain syn mode, what are my options? Do I need a 580EX II as master to trigger it?

What are you trying to shoot with off camera flash that you need 2nd curtain sync?

ettl cord unless u need wireless

I can select 2CS on my flash itself. Have you tried that? Granted I have a T2i and I use PWs, but still... the 2CS setting is on the flash and not on the camera.

Unfortunately Canon's Wireless ETTL does not support Off Camera Second Curtain Sync. And even on top of Camera, the Second Curtain Sync is still a bit off... The Only Possible way to have Off Camera 2nd Curtain Sync, besides an ETTL Chord (which I dont recommend) is the Pocket Wizard TT1/TT5 units. unfortunately, as you'll learn as you get more into Lighting... Nikon Own's us in this category. Still no way in Hell I'd trade my Mark II for a D700 though. (Unless you threw in the 135 DC... then I may consider)

@BEysler I wish Canon have a better flash system. Now I'm really temped to switch over for SB-900/SB-700. D800 come out already! I don't want to buy a D700 at the end of it's circle

Not sure how the PW would even be helpful! I really do need to try light painting one day, though.
