If I want to retain ETTL when using 430EXII off camera in 2nd curtain syn mode, what are my options? Do I need a 580EX II as master to trigger it?
My 7D pop-up flash won't let me select 2nd-curtain syn in ETTL mode

And even on top of Camera, the Second Curtain Sync is still a bit off... The Only Possible way to have Off Camera 2nd Curtain Sync, besides an ETTL Chord (which I dont recommend) is the Pocket Wizard TT1/TT5 units. Pocket Wizard even wrote an article about this: http://www.pocketwizard.com …nology/rear_curtain_sync/ I specialize in Creative Portraiture, Music and Wedding Photography.
